Work-Based Learning

FAQs

Q: Who do I connect with if I’m not sure what to do with the ROP students while they’re on site?

A: Your ROP instructor would be happy to support you in identifying things to share with students during a guest speaking event and / or community classroom experience.

Q: What should the expectations of an ROP student be in terms of working and productivity?

A: The purpose of Work-based learning is to give students real work experience in your field. Any opportunities to shadow and observe your work are of value. ROP teachers will come to your site to check in on students and their decorum.

Q: Who is liable if an ROP student gets injured while working at my business?

A: For non-paid Community Classroom sites the Worker’s Compensation Insurance is covered by the Fresno County Office of Education.
